OK people.\u00a0 Hopefully someone will take the time to read this through, and give constructive comments\u2026I have been reading about the Wisconsin protests and now am receiving emails from MoveOn.org, saying they are going to stage a protest in Philadelphia in support of the plight of the people in Wisconsin.\u00a0 If you are on Facebook, you are on the Internet.\u00a0 USE IT!\u00a0 Check the facts.\u00a0 Here is one:\u00a0 http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2011\/02\/21\/wisconsins-teachers-make-a-little-more-money-than-theyre-letting-on\/<\/a> , how many of you are making 80K per year?\u00a0 Teachers work only nine months out of the year.\u00a0 When I lived in PA, they were doing side-jobs, like painting (in the rain) or building decks (that fell down) in the other three months. \u00a0Teachers are the first line of defence to the degradation of society.\u00a0 However, they cannot do the job alone.\u00a0 One cannot blame them for failing in a society of the disintegrating family structure.<\/p>\n

Here is a reality check; the Debt Clock.\u00a0 Too bad it is not an iPod app or a desktop item:\u00a0 http:\/\/www.usdebtclock.org\/index.html<\/a>.\u00a0 WHERE IS THIS MONEY COMING FROM?\u00a0 More importantly, where is it going?\u00a0 These are the real issues.\u00a0 This is why State Governments need to cut spending.<\/p>\n

How are the roads where you live?\u00a0 Are the potholes being repaired?\u00a0 If you live where there is snow and ice, the answer is most assuredly NO.\u00a0 Do you receive food stamps? Social help?\u00a0 Retired?\u00a0 Self-Employed?\u00a0 Sure, National Health-Care is a great thing.\u00a0 When comparing to nations that have it, please take a look at their trade-deficit.\u00a0 Near-Zero, or positive.\u00a0 Look at Germany, Canada, or many of the other countries used as examples.\u00a0 The money comes from producing SOMETHING.\u00a0 The nations that do not are going bankrupt.<\/p>\n

It is absolutely simple.\u00a0 Produce or Perish. (http:\/\/mises.org\/<\/a>) Read it, and learn something, PLEASE!!!.<\/p>\n

I drive a 1967 Triumph Bonneville.\u00a0 When I came to Germany, it was all I had.\u00a0 I have had it since 1985.\u00a0 This motorcycle was produced at the end of the \u2018boom\u2019 in England.\u00a0 Built with machines, that were in a factory that either had survived the war, or was built during or shortly afterwards the war.\u00a0 However, it was produced by Tradesmen\/women, <\/strong>who learned a trade, and were proud of the work they did.\u00a0 Of course they were in a Union. ( No more \u2018Shop-class\u2019 in the USA; who \/ how is anyone learning a trade then???) <\/strong><\/p>\n

Before I get too far into the \u2018Union\u2019 thing, I need to back up a bit.\u00a0 After the war, England had MANDATORY EXPORTS.\u00a0 There was RATIONING at home.\u00a0 That means crappy gas, no luxury items for the normal folk (the Union Workers as well).\u00a0\u00a0 WHY?\u00a0 Because the country knew, that without exporting something of VALUE, there was no way to pay off the debt from the WAR:<\/p>\n

OK, back to the unions.\u00a0 Sure, there was a great abuse of the worker that needed a solution.\u00a0 Triangle Shirt Waist Factory, the bloody conflicts with the workers of Ford, abuses in the meat-packing industry (Read \u2018the Jungle\u2019 by Upton Sinclair) etc.\u00a0 However, what began as protection ended up as a pestilence.\u00a0 One of the reasons that GM is bankrupt is because of \u2018collective-bargaining\u2019.\u00a0 Do a Google on it.\u00a0 It allows the workers to hold the employer hostage until the demands are met.\u00a0 In this day and age, we are not talking about losing hands without compensation, or deadly working conditions. It is about money, and maintaining the Status Quo.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, refer to Paragraph 2; there is no money for \u2018Status Quo.\u2019\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 The reasons cannot be fully explained here.\u00a0 To put the blame on \u2018too many people\u2019 or \u2018poor management\u2019 is too easy, and leads to unworkable solutions.\u00a0 It has taken over a generation to get to this point, and thanks to technology, it will take many generations to work out of.\u00a0 (Computers have enabled the calculation of derivatives, future worth, and investment value in order to create \u2018wealth out of the air to an extent that was limited before when bookkeeping was done on paper ledgers).<\/p>\n

So, instead of making protests that entitlements are being threatened, or that the State needs to balance its\u2019 budget, the question needs to be raised as to \u2018Why\u2019\u2026Ok Rhetorical Question\u2026\u00a0 However, in a country that rates programs like \u2018K-Street\u2019 ( about lobbyists that are gutting the governmental process) are \u2018great entertainment.\u2019 It can be no wonder that things are in such a mess.<\/p>\n

The issues and solutions are complicated.\u00a0 America likes to think that it is as \u2018wholesome as Apple Pie.\u2019\u00a0 However, most of the apples are imported.<\/p>\n

People and the economy are being poisoned by CORN.\u00a0 From Beef to Soda-pop.\u00a0 All subsidised by the government.\u00a0 Thank you Lobbyists, Monsanto, and your local Congressman.<\/p>\n

No one seems to take responsibility.\u00a0 Democracy is a daily activity.\u00a0 WRITE TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVES!\u00a0 A weekend protest is great, but where is the persistent effort?\u00a0 Emails mean crap.\u00a0 Paper and envelopes COUNT:\u00a0 It is a war of statistics.\u00a0 It takes effort to write a letter and put it in the post.\u00a0 10,000 emails count as much as ONE LETTER.\u00a0 (Google it!).<\/p>\n

In Germany, there was so much hope in Obama.\u00a0 I told the people who asked me, he is only one man against over 450 who are already sold.\u00a0 (The Congress and the Senate).\u00a0 Must I also say that he spent more to get elected than any President in History?\u00a0 What did his Inaugural Ball cost?\u00a0 If he really wanted to send a message to America, he would have had a Firehouse Pot-Luck.\u00a0 What happened the \u201819% re-investment\u2019 in infrastructure?\u00a0 When we travelled across the US, all we saw were the signs, but no one working\u2026<\/p>\n

Maybe in the future we can also have hope\u2026but first we must ignore the passions fired by the media, look at the facts, and take action.\u00a0 I am willing to hear the problems, but I want to hear solutions as well dammit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
